AUGUST 4TH, 2018: Four great groups at four downtown Elkins venues make one wonderful evening of entertainment for jazz aficionados or the uninitiated. The 4th annual Elkins Jazz Walk promises outstanding performances throughout the evening with excellent food and drink options and pleasant strolls between venues.
JULY 14TH, 2018: The Main Street Downtown Yard sale is planned for Saturday July 14th from 9am to 3pm. Local business owners along with downtown community members will fill downtown sidewalks with unique items and discounted merchandise. This is a rain or shine event.
Experience the creativity of discovering downtown Elkins through demonstrations, mini-classes and performances, tours and activities at participating businesses and venues. All for free!
Around 25 businesses will partake in Discover Downtown, June 2nd, from 10am to 2pm in downtown Elkins. Booklets with the activities can be picked up in downtown stores or the Elkins Main Street office. Join us for the Mountains Beckon Bicycle Parade & Rodeo beforehand!
Planned and coordinated by Elkins Main Street, First Friday events will take place from April through September. Each event will feature live music, food and fun beginning at 5 p.m.
Downtown “block parties” will take place in May, June and September.
April’s First Friday event, located in the Seneca mall, showcased the new storefronts coming to downtown Elkins. Seneca Celebration featured music, refreshments, and lots of fun.
Planned in conjunction with Davis & Elkins College and the Augusta Heritage Center, “Dancin’ On Davis” will offer a variety of dance and other activities suitable for all ages on May 4.
On June 1, “Third Street Shindig” will bring live bluegrass to the heart of downtown Elkins. Railroad Avenue will be the destination for “Blues & Barbecue” Sept. 7.
”Jammin’ In July” will welcome local musicians to bring their instruments and join in on jam sessions throughout the downtown area on July 6. The ever-popular Elkins Jazz Walk will return to downtown Elkins Aug. 3.

Registration begins at 9am at the City Hall Parking Lot. A parent/guardian is required. Riders must wear helmets & closed toe shoes. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 30 registrants age 12 & under.
The parade begins at 10am on Davis Avenue and will travel to Fifth and Third Street.
The Rodeo, hosted by Joeys Bike Shop, immediately follows the parade.
Participants are invited to dress up and decorate their bikes.
Prizes will be awarded in six categories:
Wild Camo, Color Crazy, Super Hero, Flower Power, Sparkle & Shine and Mayor’s Choice.
March 17th, 2018 is the date set for the annual Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny hosted by Elkins Main Street at CJ Maggies. Follow our Facebook page for updated regarding the event.
Advanced tickets are available atEventbrite Tickets and Elkins Main Street, 204 Davis Ave. Tickets cost $5 per person.
Children can have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny during the hours of 8am-10am with the purchase of a breakfast ticket. The photos will be available for pick up at the Inter-Mountain newspaper office a few days after the event.
The pancake breakfast will include pancakes, linked sausage, orange juice or coffee/tea at CJ Maggies.
Many small business owners depend on holiday sales to keep the doors open. Show your support for Elkins by spending some of you holiday dollars downtown. Shop Small Saturday is a national promotion to support our local economy and business people. Remember to shop small Nov. 25th 2017.
We welcome you to take part in an open house work shop to help the City of Elkins, Randolph County and Main Street get a better understanding of what the community wants to see as the future of downtown. We will be covering topics like streepscape furniture, sidewalk ownership, lighting and traffic calming features and many more. We would like your feedback on all these important issues. The evening will include refreshments, informative stations and causal conversation about our cities long and short term goals and how do we raise funds for such improvements.
