The role of the Design committee is to support the community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart. The committee also play a significant role to help create an attractive, coordinated, and quality image of downtown Elkins by capitalizing on its unique assets and history. The committee’s responsibility includes the improvement of traditional commercial buildings, assisting with the City of Elkins streetscape vision, beautifying the downtown with public improvements (benches, planters, trash receptacles, bicycle racks), brand development, and acting as a design resource for property owners.
This committee meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Wood Technology Center at 4:00pm.
